Jack Scott, Ph.D., BCBA-D
Chair, Panel of Professional Advisors
Jack heads up the Panel of Professional Advisors for the Autism Society and serves on the Board of Directors. He is now co-chairing a Task Force on suicide prevention for persons on the autism spectrum. Dr. Jack Scott is a graduate of the special education program at the University of Florida. He is the director of the Florida Atlantic University Center for Autism and Related Disabilities, a state-sponsored regional support program serving over 6,000 families in southeast Florida. Jack is a big proponent of safety training for children. A major risk for children in Florida is elopement and drowning. His most recent book, published by Woodbine House, is Safeguarding Your Child with Autism. Among his research interests is the issue of African-American children being given less access to special autism services within schools.
